Behind every EMIVABELLE product is a conscious development process. A formula doesn't just emerge from a list of ingredients. It is developed, tested, and refined step by step – with the goal of creating a skincare product that feels as good as it fits into a well-thought-out skincare routine.

For our product development, we work with a European lab partner in Antwerp. This is where a significant part of the journey from initial formulation to finished product begins.

More than just a formula

Developing a skincare product is not just about which ingredients are included. Equally important is how the finished formulation feels on the skin.

Is the texture pleasant?

Does the product absorb quickly enough?

Does it spread evenly?

How does it behave in combination with other products?

And most importantly: Does it feel like a product you'd love to use every day?

These questions guide the development process.

The first step: Formulation

That's why development may require several adjustments.

A formula is tested, evaluated, and modified if necessary. Then the process begins anew.

Texture tests – the feeling matters

Skincare is a sensory experience.

Two products can contain similar ingredients and yet feel completely different on the skin. For example, one formulation might feel light and fresh, while another appears richer and creamier.

At EMIVABELLE, we therefore consider texture to be an important part of product development.

Applying, spreading, absorbing – each of these moments is part of the product experience.

The goal is a texture that naturally integrates into the daily care routine.

Stability – a formula must be reliable

Before a formulation can become part of a daily routine, it must reliably maintain its properties under various conditions.

Stability tests help assess how a formulation behaves over time and under different storage conditions.

Among other things, aspects such as:

• Appearance and color
• Odor
• Consistency
• Physical properties
• Behavior of the formulation

are observed and evaluated.

These tests are an important part of a responsible development process.

Because a product should not only impress on the day it is manufactured. The formula must remain stable and consistent throughout its intended shelf life.

The search for the right balance

Product development often means avoiding compromises.

For example, a texture might be particularly rich but not spread easily. A very light formulation might feel pleasant but not provide the desired skincare benefit.

The task is to harmonize the individual properties.
